South Africa makes progress on prevention of HIV infections

While a highly effective pre-exposure prophylaxis pill to prevent HIV infection exists, it has to be taken daily and uptake has been slow. Recent progress on a long-acting prophylactic injectable is raising hopes of making HIV prevention more viable.
