Cambodia Genocide Trial Can Progress

Cambodian and foreign judges have finally agreed upon the internal rules for the UN-backed genocide tribunal. This paves the way for the investigation of Khmer Rouge leaders responsible for the deaths of 1.7 million people during their brutal rule. Repeated deadlocks had raised concerns that some of the ageing perpetrators might never be brought to justice.
